Originally introduced to each other by a mutual friend, Rick and Darryl have been playing music together since 1990. There have been many bands that have passed by over the years including the Boiler Makers, Second Hand Smoke, R & D but none lasted as long as The After Hours Blues Band until they formed the Journeymen.

From the time of conception the focus of the Journeymen has been enjoyment. First by the players, and that naturally passes to the audience. The only criteria for song selection is one of them must like it. Even if the other doesn't connect with it or isn't needed to fill up the song, it's simply played as a solo performance.
